Woman's Club

In the first part of the lockdown the live wires of the Vonkelvrou Club completed nine blankets. Last year alone they donated 11 blanket to Hospice. This year's donation will go to HuisHerfsakker in Groblersdal. A big “thank you” to all involved.

 Library :

Few residents know of the small but well equipped library in the admin building. Most of the books were donated by residents keen to share their passion for reading with others in the town. The service is free and you do not even have to join up. Two of the ladies in town manage the library voluntarily.

Kranspoort morning market

In the August 2009 edition of the local newsletter André Lourens suggested that a morning market be established. He said that the purpose of it would be to serve breakfast and exhibit local artists’ work. The market could serve unique breakfast dishes and sell home baking and handmade items. It would also be a place where friends met on a Saturday. This idea actually got momentum in 2014 when the first market was held at the golf club. It was later moved to the picnic area and when the Raasblaar Hall was built it found its current venue.

Magda, Elsabe, Dave and Hans look after the breakfast and hot dogs. The jukskei club’s pancakes are also a firm favourite.

As soon as things normalise after the Covid-19 lockdown the market will resume once a month.
